PRODUKTI
SIEL WIFI
Unified platform with integrated captive portal and management of internet access via wireless networks.
wifi-line
Wireless internet technology (WiFi) is becoming extremely popular, particularly with the rapid development of small mobile devices such as laptops, electronic organisers, telephones, etc. To date, open access has been used to cover public places, where anyone can access the internet at any time for an unlimited period and without restrictions.

Disadvantages of public access points:

  • abuses by users (intrusions onto other networks and systems)
  • excessive use of provider’s internet by unauthorised parties
  • lack of supervision of use and users
The quality of the service is consequently poorer, and the responsibility for the consequences falls on the provider or owner of the WiFi system.

At SIEL, we have developed a global solution for monitoring and management of public access wireless networks.

The SIEL WiFi system is based on expanded functionalities of a classical WiFi system, and features:

  • customisable home pages
  • management of access and monetised access to the internet
  • supervision of users and guests on the network

Equipment

We use UBIQUITI and Mikrotik equipment. For more complicated systems we also provide an in-house server for monitoring and communication.

Functionalities

Home page -> WiFi portal
The WiFi portal is a closed website designed for all users of your WiFi access point. It is fully adapted for operation on various devices: computers, tablets, mobile phones. The form and content of the portal design is implemented according to the customer’s requirements. It can be used to publish news, offers, sponsorship advertisements (banners, logos), online orders of products or services that you market to your visitors or even direct messaging to registered guests. Individual monitoring of the content and structure of the portal allows flexibility depending on the customer’s wishes and needs without additional computer work, as the entire portal is supported by the content management system (CMS).

Until a successful login this is a closed system that only allows browsing on the WiFi portal. It is also possible to allow free access to pre-set websites before login (e.g. for promotional purposes).

Login -> User login and granting of internet access

Several login methods are available:

  • open login (by clicking on button)
  • token-based authorisation (system using tokens with passwords purchased in advance)
  • username and password (suitable for e.g. employees at a company)
  • login via electronic payment
  • SMS login (password obtained by sending SMS message)
  • USSD login for mobile operators
  • integration with other ERP systems

Administration

Offers a broader overview and management of the use of the WiFi network:

  • various statistics (visitors, duration of stay, user overview, overview of token use)
  • creation of usernames and passwords
  • creation and printing of tokens with passwords
  • token management (used and unused tokens)
  • restricted or expanded access for individual users (or groups of users) depending on login
  • overview of access history (display of activity)
  • display of current logins to the network
  • determination of duration of individual network logins via WiFi
  • legally prescribed storage of data on user traffic
